Craniosacral Therapy

Restore your nervous system. Reconnect with your body.

A gentle, non-invasive, hands-on approach that supports your body's natural healing by working with the subtle movements of the craniosacral system — the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid surrounding the brain and spinal cord.

What is craniosacral therapy?

Healing that begins with the gentlest touch.

Developed by osteopathic physician Dr. John Upledger, CST is rooted in the understanding that restrictions in the craniosacral system can disrupt the central nervous system and contribute to pain, dysfunction, and emotional distress.

Using soft touch — often no more than the weight of a nickel — I help release tension in the fascia, spinal column, and cranial bones to create space for healing to happen from within.

How it works

Space for the body to self-correct.

You stay fully clothed, lying comfortably on a treatment table. I place my hands on specific areas of the head, spine, or sacrum to gently detect and release tension. As restrictions melt away, the body is better able to regulate, self-correct, and restore balance. This can:

  • Improve fluid dynamics and nutrient exchange in the brain and spinal cord
  • Support autonomic nervous system regulation — balancing fight/flight and rest/digest
  • Relieve pressure on the central nervous system
  • Encourage emotional release and somatic awareness
Key benefits

Benefits beyond symptom relief

Deep relaxation & nervous system reset

CST helps you shift out of fight-or-flight and into rest-and-digest. Clients often describe deep calm, clarity, and groundedness after a session.

Pain relief & tissue decompression

By addressing the fascia, cranial bones, and tension around the spinal cord, CST relieves pressure that contributes to chronic pain — especially neck, jaw, and back.

Emotional release & trauma integration

The body stores stress in the tissues. Through SomatoEmotional Release, CST gently supports the release of unresolved trauma and greater emotional resilience.

Support for complex conditions

Research shows promising results for CST in reducing pain and improving quality of life for those with fibromyalgia, anxiety, and depression.

What it can help with

Gentle support for a wide range of concerns

  • Concussion & traumatic brain injury (TBI)
  • Chronic neck & back pain
  • Migraines & headaches
  • Chronic fatigue & fibromyalgia
  • Stress & tension-related disorders
  • TMJ dysfunction & jaw pain
  • Post-surgical recovery & orthopedic issues
  • Neurological disorders
  • Motor coordination challenges
  • Scoliosis or structural imbalances

Because CST works directly with the nervous system, it pairs beautifully with Cognomovement — I offer these as 2-hour combined sessions at Whole Body and Sole.

Is it right for you?

CST may be especially supportive if you…

  • Feel overwhelmed, overstimulated, or chronically stressed
  • Have experienced a head injury, fall, or physical trauma
  • Live with anxiety, PTSD, or emotional dysregulation
  • Have pain that hasn't responded to conventional therapies
  • Are looking for a gentle, restorative approach to healing

I welcome children (8+), teens, and adults — a safe, gentle, non-invasive approach for anyone seeking relief from pain, stress, or overwhelm.
