My Story

Healing is possible — I've lived it.

Life gave me the perfect environment to learn how to heal myself, to keep learning, and to realize that all healing is individual, sacred, and meaningful. My journey has fueled my passion to help others regain balance in their lives.

I am not alone when I speak of overcoming tremendous personal health issues and turning toward a practice of healing. The work becomes the life, and my life is truly better for it.

At 28, I was a mom of two — 8 and 5 — with 30+ piano students and a sewing business that employed five people part-time. I was very busy, and used to it. Then I started to experience extreme fatigue that gradually got much worse, along with muscle weakness, sporadic shaking, swallowing difficulties, severe digestive issues, nerve numbness, chronic pain, and ulcers. The bottom line was that I was really sick, and I could no longer ignore it. My gait changed and I needed a cane to walk with balance. I'd have bouts of improvement, then weeks of complete regression when I was bed-ridden and could barely get up to brush my teeth. My heart would race and my body would perspire at the slightest use of energy.

I consumed everything I could — blogs, books, and videos on healthy eating, autoimmune recovery, MS, chronic fatigue, and leaky gut. I did the GAPS diet for a whole year with little to no improvement. After many doctor visits, a neurologist told me I likely had MS and needed further testing.

I began to lose my sense of self, felt deeply depressed, and wondered what life would look like if the doctors were right. Would I be in a wheelchair sooner rather than later? And then, in my darkest moment, I made a decision.

"No. I would not be a statistic. This will not be my life."

I refused to accept the MS verdict — which was as close as I ever got to a real diagnosis for all my trouble. I was always drawn to the holistic route, and since modern medicine had next to no promise of helping me heal (their words), I ventured into a world that became my path back to wellness. I saw iridologists who read my eyes and named my deficiencies, acupuncturists who spoke to my energy and the emotions blocking it, and foot zoners who hit points on my feet that triggered a healing response in my body. Slowly but surely, my health began to improve. My energy started to come back, and I knew I was on the right path.

I learned how to listen to my body — to respect where my energy was and live in the present moment. If I overspent my energy, I borrowed it from the next day, or worse, triggered a flare-up that could last weeks. I learned to lean on my inner guidance and found that the wisdom to heal was innate, not something I needed to go find. It was a transformation that opened many doors and helped me become the person I am now.

Twelve years later, I am healthier than I have ever been, able to do things that would have exhausted me as a child. I find deep joy in helping others and feel passionate about finding solutions in food, lifestyle, and emotional release work to unlock the body's miraculous ability to heal. Our bodies are truly amazing.

How do I feel now? I'm a lifelong student — my body, mind, and spirit continue to teach me — and when I'm awake to my needs and honor this journey, I feel unstoppable. I have incredible tools that keep me healthy, many of which I share in my courses and coaching. If my story inspires you, or touches something you're struggling with right now, let's talk. I believe healing is possible, and we are all worthy of living our best life.
